Congratulations on your recent graduation, an important milestone achievement on your path to success in the future. We warmly welcome you into our family at Wells and are excited you made the important decision to become a Wells Raider. Our school community is eager to spend the next four years getting to know you and helping shape you into the young women and men you aspire to be. We have a variety of academic opportunities that will help prepare you for college and career when you complete your next milestone achievement, earning your high school diploma.

As you embark on the next phase of your educational journey into high school, you will discover new things about yourself while you learn more about what it takes to be a successful Wells Raider. The first step of a successful transition is joining our Freshmen Connection the summer before your Freshman year. Once the school year begins, you’ll get to know more of your teachers and peers while learning about our expectations and services during the first week of your high school career. These early experiences are crucial to relationship-building and laying the foundation for a successful high school career; the positive relationships you create with adults and scholars at Wells will help foster your personal growth.

Getting a good start on your high school career will open the door to many opportunities at Wells; we are eager to help build your academic ambition and create a vision for yourself as a top scholar. We have honors courses at every grade level designed to challenge our students and prepare them for working at a college level during their high school career. We will make recommendations for Honors placement based on your current academic profile and reviewing your progress throughout your freshmen year to ensure proper placement into our Honors programming.

Your academic achievement your freshmen year can unlock opportunities to take Advanced Placement courses for high school credit as soon as your sophomore year. Our Advanced Placement offerings are a great way to prepare for college and earn early college credit with a qualifying score on the course exam. Advanced Placement courses are just one of the ways you can pursue earning college credit during your high school career; through a partnership with the City Colleges of Chicago our qualifying juniors and seniors are eligible for free dual enrollment courses, students earn both high school and college credit that will transfer to most accredited post-secondary institutions.
