Dr. Amy Vondra is the Assistant Principal of Wells Community Academy High School. She is a leader dedicated to educating and empowering Chicago’s youth. She began her career teaching Special Education in Nashville, TN. She has worked in elementary and high schools in Chicago and is passionate about her role at Wells High School supporting students to be successful in school and life.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwestern University and a Doctorate of Education from University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to her years as a special education teacher and coach, she has worked in the for profit and non-profit sectors on the west side of Chicago and strives to combine the diverse leadership experiences to benefit the students at Wells.
Dr. Vondra believes that all students deserve a quality and engaging high school experience that prepares them to access their own potential. She strives to make Wells a place that supports students through their high school experience and prepares them for a bright future.
In her free time she enjoys cheering on Wells athletic teams and spending time with her two daughters.
